And The Award Goes To…

Envelope, please! BCH recently helped the Fund for the Arts launch Louisville’s inaugural Awards in the Arts, a new initiative to recognize artists and their impact on the community.

This was not your typical awards gala, as it had added star power. In addition to the Fund for the Arts, the event was co-hosted by The Jennifer Lawrence Foundation and Churchill Downs, during Opening Night at Churchill Downs Racetrack. The entire evening took on an arts theme, with arts performances around every turn, award presentations in the Winner’s Circle between nighttime horse races, a swanky VIP reception in the Stakes Room, and even an arts-themed signature cocktail, the “Opening Night.”

Since this was the first event of its kind in Louisville, the Fund for the Arts needed a unique brand for Awards in the Arts. BCH created an original logo that the hosts loved so much, they set it in stone – literally.

The angular “A” design made its mark on all press materials, event deliverables, and was carved into stone by local artist Mike McCarthy as the trophy for award recipients. The statue was featured on the cover of The Voice-Tribune and on the event program next to Jennifer Lawrence’s face.

We are proud to have created the image for this iconic event, which the Fund for the Arts, The Jennifer Lawrence Foundation and Churchill Downs hope to continue for years to come.
