Bandy Carroll Hellige Receives Honor from Police Chief

Bandy Carroll HelligeLOUISVILLE, Ky (April 9, 2008) – Bandy Carroll Hellige (BCH) was recently recognized by Chief Robert White of the Louisville Metro Police Department for the agency's work on a drug-abuse prevention and awareness campaign.

The Louisville Metro Police Department received a federal grant of almost $450,000 to launch an anti-methamphetamine campaign in Louisville. This grant will pay for new equipment for the Metro Narcotics Unit as well as print advertising and public-service announcements.

BCH donated its services to help develop the Meth Awareness Media Campaign. Several concepts will be executed over the next two years on billboards, bus shelters and other outdoor media.

At the 5th Annual Louisville Metro Police Awards Banquet, BCH received the Chief's Community Partnership Award forMeth Awareness Media Campaign the support, efforts and collaboration on the Meth Awareness Media Campaign to educate the citizens of Louisville.

The campaign is focused on encouraging the public to call the anonymous crime tip hotline, 574-LMPD, if they suspect a meth lab or user. LMPD is looking to raise awareness about the danger of meth and how neighbors and friends can report a suspected problem.

"The campaign illustrates that meth can be a problem in any neighborhood but, at the same time, that any neighborhood can work with the police department to eradicate it," said Gary Sloboda, partner and creative director with Bandy Carroll Hellige. "We are proud to partner with LMPD to address an important community challenge."
